If there is anything I have learned from my mother – and that’s a lot – She’s always showed me how important it is to write and express yourself – whether someone would see it or not. I remember my childhood and hanging out with her as she wrote in her endless journals while listening to music – something I’m doing right now in fact.
Journals became a gift I’d get her often and it was always something so important to her. She’d write when she was happy, sad, excited – her journals were her thing. That is the purpose of this blog is a place for me to go to express myself.
I have to say I am so dang thankful.
What about though – you ask.
Well that’s the thing – you.
When I began this business it never occurred to me the friendships, the lessons, the people I’d meet, the moments I’d witness, and the memories I’d create. When I was 19 my goal was to make people smile with my art. Over the years that changed from just making someone smile to capturing the heart of a person. In doing so I’ve experienced things I never thought I would. I’ve gone to places I never thought I’d go to on my own and met people that have become life long friendships.
So to all of you who are reading this I say thank you. Truly and humbly.
Quarantine has given me a lot of time to reflect on things and this has been one of them. I want to thank all of you for giving me a chance and allowing me to capture your most precious memories. In return I’ve given moments that can never be brought back, captured your favorite memories, children when they were small, before they were born – the moment you said I do to the love of your life.
After a wedding day all we have left are our memories and photos.
In the past 5 months I have continued to learn the importance of photography and the impact of my own images have. When I see people use them my heart swells with pure joy and I know I did my job right. I am so thankful I have been able to give so many families the gift of photography.
So I thank you for choosing me – it truly means the world to me and I want to thank all of you for making ME smile throughout the years. This year will more than likely be a year of rest considering everything happening with COVID but I will say I am so ready and so excited to capture more of your memories for you and in doing so creating memories together.
I could go on and on about how thankful I am for you guys – you have no idea the amount of joy you all have given me. To that I said cheers!
