1.) Relax.

I know, you’re meeting with this photographer you’re nervous and maybe even a little self conscious but to help make sure your images are the absolute best, shake those nerves out. When the photographer shoots you, he or she makes sure to get your best self in your images. We make sure to pay attention to as many details as possible to make you and your spouse to be look amazing. Remember, you have the love of your life next to you and I’m here to capture that special love between you both!

2.) Don’t be afraid to be you.

If you and your fiance are silly – be silly! Don’t be afraid to be yourselves in front of your photographer! We get the absolute best images when you’re able to be comfortable! We love being able to get your laughter and happy smiles when we shoot with you! I want nothing more than to know you will love your images years from now because you were happy and comfortable!

3.) Dress Comfortably.

Besides dressing nicely for your photo shoot you need to make sure you’re 100% comfortable in what you’re wearing. If you wear flats often, like myself, don’t wear 6 inch heels for your photo session. The last thing to be is in pain when you’re getting photos done! Make sure whatever you wear for your session you feel comfortable and confident! Make sure your spouse to be feels comfortable as well! As a couple you should feel your best for your session and clothes help make the man/woman!

4.) Get good outfit inspiration.

Taking in season, making sure to put complimentary colors together, and of course your comfort you want to make sure you find good outfit inspiration for you session! Pinterest has plenty of examples for you to choose from and it’s very important to getting the most out of your session! Again, make sure you feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful/handsome! Feeling your best is so important!

5.) Include hobbies, special items, and places.

If you and your fiance love football, art, theater, or even wine tasting include it in your session! There is nothing I love more when couples include special things about themselves within their sessions! For example, one couple I photographed are big into theater so they decided to get their photos done at the embassy theater downtown! Another thing to keep in mind are special locations: where you first met, where you had your first date, or a place you just love to be together whether that be at the lake or in your home location, hobbies, and items like this are SO SO important!

I hope these tips help you to make your engagement session the absolute best! Congratulations brides; I hope to work with you soon! Happy Planning!
