Erika + Christian | Camp Rim Rock Wedding

I have never shot a campground wedding before; I had no idea what to expect! I gotta say though, Erika and Christian’s wedding was one for the books! Before their wedding day I never met the pair, all of our communication was either through Instagram or email.  When I arrived to Erika’s cabin – escorted by her charismatic little brother – she welcomed me like an old friend and Christian was so kind and welcoming. Camp Rim Rock was beautiful. Horses grazed in the feilds, trees were all around, with cabins hidden inside – it was a true nature lover’s dream.

Erika was so lively and charismatic, her smile lit up the room every time. It was fun watching her get ready and we talked about the day ahead and Game of Thrones. Fun fact: I have actually never watched Game of Thrones. Not because I don’t want to – I’ve never had the time nor the HBO subscription to! I plan to read all the books and start the show soon though! No worries there! When she finished getting ready, she had the sweetest first look with her father that nearly had me bawling behind the camera myself. When her father gifted her a hankercheif from her mothers funeral tears welled in my own eyes. Knowing what it is like to lose a parent , I wanted to hug Erika in that moment. But her father sure took care of that for me. It is a moment I will most certainly treasure witnessing.

It was so much fun being driven by the bride to the designated formal photo location. We laughed with each bump we hit and insta-storied the whole thing! As we took photos we included this beautiful framed photo of Erika’s mother. Erika, I know for a fact your mama is so proud and I’m sure she is smiling so bright!

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful; Erika’s best friend officiated the event. But this wasn’t your typical ceremony filled with blessings and scriptures. Instead, fun stories, jokes, and refrences were shared. We all cracked up and I nearly shouted “Always” when a Harry Potter joke was uttered.

The family photos, though short, were entertaining as well as we sang wheels on the bus to snag a photo with the flower girl, tripped on our feet for a group photo, and doing our best “drunk walk” for some candids.

Erika and Christian danced the night away belting out “Shut up and Dance with me”, enjoyed a relaxing dinner, and laughed as the best man provided crucial “evidence” to his debate at how awesome Christian is. Their wedding day was perfect in so many ways and I truly feel honored that you both chose me to capture it. Thank you so so much and I wish you both nothing but joy, love, and success in your future!
